New new new new new....

Yeah yeah, I made a new blog.  The last one was going to be about life in beauty school...but we all see how well that worked out.

Let's try something a bit different.

I want this to be about makeup, hair, and whatever else I have going on in my head.  I'm also thinking of doing makeup tutorials and maybe crafting things too.  I don't know just yet, let's see where this takes us, shall we?

Right now, I have a lot of things on my mind.  My hands hurt like fire, so this won't be too long.  My doctor told me my autoimmune test came back positive.  She's sending me to a rheumetologist to figure out which autoimmune disease/disorder (same darn thing) I have.  More blood draws, more prodding, more questions.  I'm fine with it.  As long as they can lessen the pain in my joints and muscles, I'll be grateful.  I'm able to eliminate a lot of autoimmune diseases based on their symptoms...but there are a few biggies that I fall under.  We shall see.  I can't really worry too much about it because there isn't a damn thing I can do about it right now.  I'll take the information as it comes and process it then.

Another thing on my mind is this:  in a world where information is now at our fingertips, literally with Google and every freaking website known to man, why is there so much ignorance?  Can people really not determine fact from fiction?  I know the truth isn't always an easy pill to swallow, I'm well aware, but really.  We can find out anything we want to know with a few words and a few clicks.  A wealth of information from around the globe is sitting here waiting to be read and people can't be bothered with it.  I find those are the people with the biggest mouths.  Or those are the people that read articles from The Onion and not even remotely suspect that they are reading satire.

When you're passionate about your beliefs, wouldn't it make sense to gather facts and arm yourself with knowledge so you can not only be educated, but you can educate those around you too?  Also, why don't people understand that a debate is a discussion of facts from both sides of an issue...it is NOT a fight or a slander contest.  I don't feel the need to call names or things of that nature.  Instead I'll just use the vast web of knowledge that is at my disposal via the internet and slap you in the face with facts.

Point of my rant is this:  if you're passionate about a stance, you had better know your shit.  If you are unsure, LOOK IT UP!  We live in the most amazing time where the phone we carry with us is also a personal portable computer.  We are never more than an arms length away from anything you want to know.  Google, Wikipedia, Snopes, etc....I mean those are the basic tiny few.  Knowledge is a superpower, use it.

On a absolutely different note, my friend Brandy is going to be dressing up as the Queen of Hearts for her work Halloween Costume Contest and she has asked me to figure out some sweet Queen of Hearts makeup and do a tutorial on it.  Once I have it done (will be working on it this weekend) I will post it here.  If anyone has a suggestion of a look they want to see or a basic makeup concept, I would be more than happy to try to do a tutorial (either picture or video) for you.  I do not know how to do special effects makeup, I hope to learn someday, but until then I can do all sorts of others.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!  I'll be using this blog from now on so if you followed me on Happy Hair Time, please follow me here :)
